I recently stayed at the Sandman Hotel in Red Deer and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but what really stood out was the service. Dayton and Yve were especially impressive, they were polite, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. They helped with every question I had and made the stay feel smooth and welcoming. Their customer service truly elevated my experience, and I appreciate the effort they put into making guests feel taken care of. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Dec 15 2025 | We booked by calling the hotel directly and stayed 4 nights. Faiz at the front desk was such a delightful, happy, customer service-oriented soul and cared about our experience. I am certain he is also who helped us book because his energy on the phone was contagious and matched what we woke up to every morning. We stayed here with our pets and needed a larger suite style of room. Eve checked us in and was very accommodating and helped another family member change her room to an accessible room that was missed when booked through Expedia. I would have put 4 stars for the room because during the renovation the renovation team missed redoing the carpet and it was installed away from the wall and jagged in places. But we let the maintenance supervisor know so they could fix for the next guest and he was so apologetic and offered to move us but we were already checking out. Faiz took care of us though and made an accommodation to our bill that we didn’t demand or ask for. He did it based on great customer service! I proceeded with 5 stars because our daughter’s room was great and without issue. Side note: we did go to Denny’s and took advantage of the 15% discount for staying at the Sandman. The team over there was also over the top with considerate customer service.

I don’t usually write reviews for hotel check-ins… but after the experience we had, I absolutely had to. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendliest front desk representative I think I have ever encountered. From the moment we walked in, he welcomed us with such a genuine smile and warm energy that it instantly made the whole place feel more like visiting a friend than checking into a hotel. Traveling with a baby (and being a little tired and chaotic ourselves) can sometimes make hotel check-ins feel stressful, but he handled everything with patience, kindness, and a great sense of humor. He was incredibly helpful answering questions, explaining everything clearly, and making sure we had everything we needed before we even had the chance to ask. What really stood out was how personable he was. Instead of the typical robotic “ID and credit card please” experience, he actually took the time to chat with us, laugh with us, and make us feel genuinely welcome. By the time we walked away with our room keys we were joking that he deserved a raise… or at the very least a trophy for “Best Hotel Check-In Ever.” It’s rare to meet someone who is that naturally great at customer service. You can tell he truly enjoys helping people and takes pride in his work. Hotels can have nice rooms, comfortable beds, and good locations but the people are what really make a stay memorable. Thanks to him, our trip started off on the best possible note. Sandman Hotel, if you’re reading this: please give that man a raise!! Thank you for making our check-in such a positive experience Dayton!! We truly appreciated you!

Great experience so far. Dayton was very friendly and informative while checking in. Gym was basic but has everything you need. Moxies attached to building. Pool and hot tub area looks nice and clean.

Every time we saw you, you were happy and wished me a happy birthday (which shows you paid attention to detail). You were very professional yet personable at the same time. Good quality.

Dayton was a bright, smiley, and welcoming face to greet us at our destination. He was knowledgeable and patient with a very nice sense of humor. Rooms were clean and location to the hospital was convenient. Highly recommend! Thank you for greeting us, Dayton. On our way to leave the hotel we met Faiz who was working the front desk. He was very nice and had a very nice smile He helped us check out and told us about the Denny’s discount which we used. He quickly had us on our way. Thanks Faiz P.S. TV remotes suck!

One of my best experiences staying in a hotel. You can actually feel peace and comfort. Very good price also (I did book through trivago and got a deal). Reserved the room last minute due to weather conditions and it was a seamless check in and check out. Joseph was attentive and took the effort to accommodate a special need that I had during check in and made me feel at ease. My room was very clean and comfortable. The check out service I received from Dayton was impeccable. He was super helpful down to refunding me for a transaction on my debit card from trying to use the vending machine on my floor. The machine doesn’t take change and with my debit card I wasn’t able to get the drinks I was trying to get (quite possibly user error) the screen on the machine said the transaction was cancelled, but later on I seen it had been posted to my account. He was understanding and had no problem with reimbursing me. Truly a stress free stay, especially taking into consideration that this time of year can get overwhelming with the increased traffic and the poor weather conditions.

The staff here are so friendly. Dayton is welcoming and kind. Corey Dagg the General Manager always makes sure our stay is great! The atmosphere of the hotel is warming and I love the new renovations. I always stay at Sandman Hotel Red Deer because they treat you really well. The rooms are so clean and the beds are as comfortable as can be. What an amazing place!
